Whilst in kennels our Seniors are always walked daily (often twice a day) by an amazing group of volunteers who dedicate some time each week so the Seniors can stretch their legs out of kennels.
However, sometimes it's nice to give the Seniors a different day out - with new sights and new smells to explore and to engage their brains with.
A trip out away from the kennels where they can relax more, have all the attention and be thoroughly spoilt… and whilst they are exploring and having fun we get to assess them in different situations, and in a different environment, which helps us to get to know them better and helps us to match them to their perfect home.
To enable this to be provided, we have teamed up with Katie at Pawsome Canines.
Katie will be offering our Seniors their own Surprise Adventures.
Each Adventure will be tailored specifically to each dog's needs.
Senior Staffy Club makes no profit. The cost of sponsorship is to cover the cost of the Adventure provided by Pawsome Canines.
The more energetic dogs will be taken to somewhere new. They'll be given a kong in the car to keep them entertained. Then we'll explore somewhere new and take in all the different sights and smells.
If they are a dog that can relax outside, they will also have a bit of time to chill and have a rest, and have a chew or two!
The older less mobile dogs will still have the car journey to somewhere new then it might be a potter round before sitting outside somewhere dog friendly (indoors if the weather's rubbish) and watching the world go by for a bit… with a few cuddles thrown in!
Plus there is the option of a secure field if the dogs need somewhere a bit more peaceful to have a mooch around.
Each Adventure will be planned and tailor made for each Senior and will be aimed at making it as enriching an experience as possible to help with the stress they experience from being in kennels and to get to know them better.
A write up and photographs will be taken of their Adventure which will be placed on the Senior Staffy Club Facebook page - together with a thank you to the Adventure’s sponsor… so you will get to see the fun your sponsored dog has had.
Please note we allocate the Adventures to the Seniors to make sure every Senior gets a chance for an Adventure!
